STARLUX Airlines Expands Its Luxury Network with San Francisco to Taipei Flight and Second U.S. Destination
Taiwan-based luxury carrier STARLUX Airlines has expanded its U.S. network with the launch of nonstop flights from San Francisco to Taipei on December 16, 2023. This new route represents STARLUX’s second U.S. gateway following Los Angeles, providing American travelers direct access to Taipei and convenient connections to 20 Asian destinations. The airline celebrated this significant milestone with an inaugural event and pre-flight ceremony prior to the 11:40 p.m. departure.
This expansion not only demonstrates STARLUX’s commitment to growing its U.S. network but also sets the stage for future growth with plans for long-haul intercontinental routes spanning North America, Europe, and Oceania.
STARLUX operates one of its four next-generation A350 aircraft on this route, offering thrice-weekly flights between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Flight JX011 departs from San Francisco every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 11:40 p.m., arriving in Taipei at 5:30 a.m. two days later. Flight JX012 leaves Taipei at 11:20 p.m. and arrives in San Francisco at 6:15 p.m. on the same days. The airline plans to increase the frequency to daily flights starting on March 20, 2024.
STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai expressed his enthusiasm for the San Francisco to Taiwan route, saying, “The launch of our San Francisco to Taiwan route marks an incredible series of milestones for STARLUX. From our humble beginnings in January 2020 with three intra-Asia flights, we have expanded our network to encompass 22 destinations. Following our inaugural transpacific flight to Los Angeles in April, we now celebrate our second U.S. destination, San Francisco. U.S. travelers now have two transpacific routes to Taipei with STARLUX, promising luxury travel experiences and the anticipation of more exciting routes as we strengthen our U.S. network.”
STARLUX’s Airbus A350 aircraft offer four distinct cabins: First Class (4 seats), Business Class (26 seats), Premium Economy (36 seats), and Economy (240 seats). Each cabin is meticulously designed to provide a delightful and soothing experience, featuring earth-toned interiors, award-winning crew attire, curated in-cabin aromatherapy, and Michelin-rated meals. First and Business Class passengers enjoy a private space with sliding doors, lie-flat seats with Zero G mode for complete relaxation. Premium Economy offers a 40-inch Recaro seat with leg rest and footrest bar, while Economy boasts leather headrests and generous seat pitch. All passengers have access to seatback entertainment with 4K personal large screens.
STARLUX’s new flights offer exquisite dining, including signature Taiwanese dishes and amenities to ensure an at-home experience in the air. For First Class passengers on the SFO route, STARLUX has introduced a new 3-star Michelin menu from Taiwan’s renowned restaurant, Tairroir. Starting in January 2024, first-class passengers flying from Taipei to Los Angeles will also have the opportunity to savor these dishes. Passengers can conveniently pre-order their meals online to enjoy a personalized dining experience.
Founded on the principle that luxury should be accessible to all, not just the elite, STARLUX is a boutique international airline that places a high priority on safety and offers unparalleled service. Their goal is to make flying an authentically luxurious and unforgettable experience, and their impressive growth reflects this commitment.
