Startup Avelo announces three new routes
Avelo has announced three new routes from Tweed-New Haven, with Baltimore, Chicago Midway, and Raleigh Durham taking off at the end of May.
The three new routes are significantly different from its current focus on Florida, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah, and they bring to 13 its route network from the Connecticut airport. The announcement comes ahead of two additional routes being revealed later this week from Burbank.
Avelo’s in expansion mode again, with Baltimore, Chicago Midway, and Raleigh Durham all to launch at the end of May. When writing ahead of the official announcement, the exact timings aren’t known. However, one-way base fares (including only a small personal item) are available to Baltimore from $49, Raleigh Durham from $59, and Chicago from $69.
They come soon after four new routes were announced from New Haven, an airport Avelo inaugurated on November 3rd and at which Avelo has now carried over 100,000 passengers, according to the latest information from the carrier. It’s located about 42 miles (68km) from Hartford and 54 miles (87km) from Westchester.
Looking at the week beginning May 26th, when all three routes launch, Avelo has 69 departures planned from New Haven or about 10x daily. It means the Connecticut airport will have a third of Avelo’s total departures that week, according to the latest OAG data. simpleflying.com & OAG
