Stéphane Maquaire Appointed President and CEO of Club Med

Club Med has appointed Stéphane Maquaire as its new President and CEO, effective immediately. The announcement follows a thorough succession process initiated by outgoing executive Henri Giscard d’Estaing and approved by the Club Med Holding board.
Maquaire, a seasoned French executive with global experience in consumer brands and commercial real estate, will lead the all-inclusive resort brand from its Paris headquarters. He most recently served as Executive Director for Carrefour Brazil and Latin America.
Xiaoliang Xu, Co-CEO of Fosun International and Chairman of both Fosun Tourism Group and Club Med Holding, praised the appointment, stating, “Stéphane brings a strong international track record and deep expertise in the consumer sector. He is well-positioned to drive Club Med’s continued growth and lead it into its next chapter.”
The board expressed gratitude to Henri Giscard d’Estaing for more than two decades of leadership, highlighting his role in establishing Club Med’s global presence and reinforcing its French hospitality identity.
In his statement, Maquaire described Club Med as a “global icon” and emphasized his commitment to preserving its values. “It is a culture, a spirit, a way of living and sharing. I’m honored to lead this unique company into its next chapter, building on the remarkable legacy of Henri Giscard d’Estaing.”
Maquaire added that Club Med’s core principles—freedom, inclusion, and care—are more relevant than ever. He looks forward to engaging with teams and guests worldwide to shape the future of the brand together.
