Steve Wozniak Criticizes Elon Musk for Leadership Style and Tesla Design Issues

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has expressed strong criticism of tech mogul Elon Musk, highlighting concerns over Musk’s leadership approach and the impact on Tesla’s vehicle design. Speaking at a tech conference in Spain, Wozniak’s comments were aired during a CNBC interview where he questioned Musk’s influence and decisions as a leader.

Wozniak described Musk’s actions as akin to bullying, suggesting that Musk’s wealth and position might have led him to overestimate his capabilities and authority. “Bullying is the best way to think of it,” Wozniak said, comparing Musk’s behavior to that of a school bully who imposes their will on the vulnerable. His remarks extend to Musk’s role as a “special government employee” under former President Donald Trump, where he was tasked with increasing government efficiency, which controversially resulted in significant layoffs of federal employees.

Moreover, Wozniak criticized the evolving design of Tesla vehicles, stating that each new model iteration has degraded the user experience. “Every step up where they changed things in the car, it got worse and worse and worse,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of user interface—a field he considers crucial due to his background in developing the Apple I and II computers.

Wozniak also took the opportunity to voice his disapproval of Donald Trump, calling him a “disgusting person” and criticizing his lack of compassion and decency. This sharp critique comes amidst ongoing political tensions where Musk has sought support from Republican senators to rescind $2 billion in foreign aid—a move that has faced strong opposition from Democratic lawmakers.
