Sultan Takes President Role at Concur Travel
SAP Concur has appointed company veteran Charlie Sultan as president of Concur Travel. Sultan moves into the role from his most recent position as chief operating officer and SVP of strategic planning for SAP Concur. He has held a variety of leadership roles at SAP Concur over the last eight years, overseeing supplier relations and content strategy for Concur Travel, including TripLink. Prior to SAP Sultan spent 15 years at American Airlines with senior roles that spanned corporate strategy, distribution, finance and sales and marketing.
In his new role, Sultan will lead travel solution management, supplier merchandising and customer needs, market awareness efforts and delivering market growth for SAP travel solutions, according to the company’s release. In a statement Sultan said the company was “investing heavily in travel transformation” and that he would be working “to ensure SAP continues delivering innovative solutions to help customers meet their travel and settlement needs.”
Sultan takes the top spot at Concur Travel in the wake of key executive exits at SAP Concur over the last year. Jim Lucier, who served as president of SAP Concur, left the company in January 2021. He was followed that year by chief marketing officer Christopher Juneau and chief technology officer Saju Pillai. In February 2022, the company announced the departures of longtime business leader Mike Koetting and chief product strategy officer A.G. Lambert. John Wookey, president of SAP’s Intelligent Spend & Business Network unit, which includes SAP Concur, also left the company this year.
