Sunlight Air, a domestic airline based in the Philippines, has announced a strategic shift of its operations to Angeles City Clark International, effective April 1, 2024. This transition comes as part of the airline’s effort to streamline its operations and enhance service efficiency for its passengers.

Following a period of careful analysis and consideration, including feedback from its customer base, Sunlight Air has decided to transfer the bulk of its flights from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Consequently, its routes from Manila to Busuanga, Del Carmen (Siargao), and Iloilo will be rerouted to originate from Clark, signifying a significant change in the airline’s operational footprint. The Manila to Cebu route will remain as Sunlight Air’s sole operation out of Manila Ninoy Aquino International, while the service to Camiguin will be discontinued.

CEO Ryna Brito-Garcia highlighted the anticipated benefits of this move, stating that the relocation is expected to lead to “heightened efficiency and reliability” in the airline’s operations. By shifting its focus to Clark International Airport, located approximately 100 kilometers north of Ninoy Aquino International, Sunlight Air aims to leverage the recent improvements and the increase in both aircraft and passenger traffic at Clark to further refine its service offerings.

Since its inception just over three years ago, Sunlight Air has been committed to providing an exceptional experience for its customers. The airline expresses optimism about the potential for increased flight frequencies and the introduction of new routes from its new base at Clark International in the near future.

Sunlight Air, a privately owned carrier, operates a fleet of three ATR72-500 aircraft, catering to various domestic destinations within the Philippines. This strategic relocation underscores the airline’s adaptability and commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
