Madrid-based Swiftair is set to enhance its cargo capabilities with the addition of two converted A321-200(P2F) freighter aircraft. The Spanish carrier recently finalized a lease agreement with AerCap, with deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

The aircraft, set to be converted by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) at the ST Engineering Aerospace facility in Singapore Seletar airport, will join Swiftair’s fleet as part of its commitment to more efficient and sustainable growth. Salvador Moreno, Chief Executive of Swiftair, highlighted the significance of these additions, stating, “These aircraft mark a milestone in our fleet renewal program, allowing our customers to meet their carbon reduction targets and access the most effective and reliable products in their class, available in the market today.”

Scheduled for delivery in April and June 2024, the A321-200(P2F) conversions bring advanced technology to Swiftair’s cargo operations. Known for their quiet and economical freight capabilities, these aircraft align with Swiftair’s strategy for eco-friendly and modern fleet expansion.

AerCap, a major player in aircraft leasing, ordered fifteen A321-200 conversions from EFW in 2022. The lessor currently manages a diverse portfolio, including A321 freighters leased to IndiGo Airlines and Sichuan Airlines.

Swiftair’s current fleet comprises a variety of cargo and passenger aircraft, including ATRs, Boeing 737s, and Embraer EMB-120s. The addition of the A321-200(P2F) aircraft reflects Swiftair’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the cargo industry’s evolution, providing its customers with cutting-edge and environmentally conscious freight solutions.

Stay tuned for updates as Swiftair gears up to integrate these advanced freighters into its operations, solidifying its position as a leader in the air cargo sector.
