Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is set to expand its global network by introducing a groundbreaking nonstop service from Zürich (ZRH) to Seoul (ICN), commencing on May 7, 2024. This thrice-weekly flight marks the first direct connection to the South Korean capital by the Swiss flag carrier, signaling a significant enhancement in travel convenience and international relations between Switzerland and South Korea.

For this inaugural route, SWISS has chosen its reliable Airbus A340-300 aircraft, outfitted with a four-class cabin configuration. The aircraft will feature 8 First Class, 42 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy, and 144 Economy Class seats, summing up to a total capacity of 215 passengers. This diverse seating arrangement caters to a wide range of preferences and budgets, ensuring a comfortable and tailored flying experience for all travelers.

The scheduled flight duration of 11 hours and 45 minutes facilitates a swift journey across continents, with flights from Zurich departing at 13:40 on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Return flights from Seoul are planned for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:55, all times being local. This schedule is designed for optimal convenience, allowing travelers to maximize their time in each destination whether for business or leisure.

Seoul joins a list of new long-haul destinations SWISS is adding to its network this summer, including previously announced nonstop services to Washington-Dulles (IAD) and Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) in September 2023. This expansion underscores SWISS’ commitment to connecting Switzerland with key global cities, facilitating cultural exchange, and providing more travel options for its passengers.

With the launch of the Zürich to Seoul service, SWISS not only strengthens its position as a leading airline in international travel but also meets the growing demand for direct flights between Europe and Asia.
