SWISS Wins Top Honors in Global Traveler’s “Wines on the Wing” Awards

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has achieved multiple distinctions in this year’s Global Traveler “Wines on the Wing” awards, recognizing the airline’s exceptional wine selection across all travel classes. The annual awards celebrate the best wines served on international flights, judged through blind tastings by a panel of wine experts.
SWISS proudly secured first place in the Top International First-Class Wines category—an accolade the airline views as a testament to its ongoing commitment to delivering the finest Swiss quality inflight. The 2022 Cayas Syrah red by Jean-René Germanier from Canton Valais also claimed first place in the Top Red Wines International First-Class category.
Premium Economy & Economy Class Success
In Premium Economy and Economy Class, SWISS’s Assemblage de Romandie from Geneva’s Domaine Les Perrières earned first place among international red wines, while France’s La Cuvée Mythique Vin de Pays d’Oc from Languedoc-Roussillon took second place. The Chasselas de Romandie white served in these cabins was also ranked second in the Top White Wines International category.
Sparkling Wine Recognition
SWISS received two third-place awards in the sparkling category:
- Pommery Cuvée Louise Millésime 2006 Parcelles First Class Champagne
- Millesimato Spumante Brut served in Premium Economy and Economy Class
Showcasing Swiss Wines Above the Clouds
By offering premium Swiss wines across all travel classes, SWISS not only enhances its passengers’ inflight experience but also introduces travelers to Switzerland’s boutique wine industry—of which less than 1% of production is exported. These awards reaffirm SWISS’s role in promoting Swiss wine culture on the global stage.
