The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) has approved a $297 million loan guarantee to support the export of Boeing 787-10 aircraft and General Electric spare engines to TAAG Angola Airlines. The financing will assist the Angolan flag carrier in acquiring two Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, scheduled for delivery in July and August 2025.

The approval marks a significant step in TAAG’s ongoing fleet modernization strategy. These widebody aircraft will enhance the airline’s long-haul capabilities and support its growth plans across international markets. The Boeing 787-10 offers increased fuel efficiency, greater passenger capacity, and advanced onboard comfort for long-haul operations.

In addition to the 787-10s, TAAG has also placed an order for two Boeing 787-9s. The first 787-9 was delivered in February 2025, while the second is expected to join the fleet in September. The inclusion of both aircraft variants enables TAAG to serve a wider range of routes and optimize fleet performance.

The $297 million guarantee from EXIM Bank supports U.S. aerospace exports and promotes American manufacturing jobs through Boeing and General Electric, whose engines will power the aircraft. EXIM’s backing also ensures competitive financing for international carriers acquiring U.S.-built aviation products.

As TAAG Angola Airlines continues to expand its footprint, the addition of new-generation Boeing 787s positions the airline for improved efficiency, enhanced customer experience, and a stronger presence on intercontinental routes.
