Taiwan’s STARLUX Airlines prepares for US flights
STARLUX Airlines, the Taiwan-based full-service airline, is aiming at America, in particular the Los Angeles market, as a vector for growth.
On April 26 STARLUX Airlines will be launching its first trans-Pacific flight between Taipei (TPE) and Los Angeles (LAX). This service, which will have five weekly frequencies in each direction, will be operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft fitter with a four-class cabin (with 4 first, 26 business, 36 premium economy and 240 economy class seats).
The Taiwanese carrier, which launch in 2020 with the goal of offering a premium-type service, already operates a network of 15 destinations across Asia at present.
In order to boost its brand recognition in the Californian market, STARLUX Airlines has signed a partnership deal with Major League Baseball team LA Dodgers for the 2023 season.
The airline’s brand will feature in the Dodger’s pavilion roof as well as in other stadium signage. STARLUX Airlines will also provide Dodgers-themed amenities, such as inflight meal packaging, luggage tags and visual elements in boarding passes, on flights between Taipei and LA.
This deal with the Dodgers follows a similar one signed by STARLUX Airlines in March with NBA franchise Los Angeles Clippers.
