Tavaero Jet Charter Continues Fleet Renewal Into 2025

Houston-based Tavaero Jet Charter will continue upgrading its fleet through 2025, co-owner Marcela White confirmed in an exclusive interview. Following the addition of a two-year-old Citation Jet 3+ in 2024, the operator recently inducted a 2010-built Hawker 750 and plans to replace a 31-year-old BAe-125-800A with a 2005 Hawker 800XPi.

White noted increasing client concern over aircraft age, prompting the company to avoid older models. Tavaero’s Part 135 fleet now includes 11 aircraft with an average age of 26.7 years, ranging from Learjet 60s and Challenger 604s to a Falcon 900.

Supply chain issues are also influencing renewal efforts. White cited engine delays that grounded a Citation III for over three months, as well as challenges sourcing parts for Learjets and Falcons. “Post-COVID disruptions, labor shortages, and increased aircraft sales have strained the supply chain,” she said.

Operating a mixed fleet brings added complexity, requiring new processes for aircraft like the Falcon 900. Still, White emphasized that fleet diversity allows greater flexibility in meeting varied client needs.

Tavaero, founded in 1995 and acquired by White and her husband in 1999, is based at Houston Hobby. The company focuses on executive roundtrips and manages both owned and client aircraft under Part 91 and 135 certifications.

Corporate travelers represent 60–70% of the company’s clientele, with destinations including California, New York, and international locations like Mexico and Colombia. White reported that while charter demand has cooled from post-COVID peaks, it remains above pre-pandemic levels.

Tariff-related regulations in countries like Mexico are beginning to impact operations, White warned, potentially complicating future maintenance and logistics.
