Tecnam Gains New Training Aircraft Orders
Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam has secured a series of significant new orders for its training aircraft at Pilot Expo 2025 in Brussels, marking a major boost for the company as flight schools worldwide expand their fleets amid surging demand for commercial pilot training.
During the two-day event held from February 21 to 22, 2025, Tecnam signed agreements with several prominent flight training organizations, including Aeros, Cyprus Airways Flying Academy (CAFA), and Poland-based Smart Aviation. These orders come at a time when the global aviation industry is experiencing unprecedented growth in pilot training, driven by increased demand from airlines and a renewed focus on expanding the talent pipeline.
Aeros Chooses Tecnam for Quality and Value
British flight training school Aeros emerged as one of the key players at the event, signing a purchase agreement for 14 Tecnam P-Mentor IFR single-engine two-seater aircraft. According to Aeros CEO Nick Dunn, the school assembled a steering group of senior engineers, managers, and instructors to evaluate the top two-seater trainers available in the market. “Tecnam came out on top in terms of quality, cost, and after-sales service,” Dunn explained. The first six aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2025 and will support both ab-initio and modular training programs for Private Pilot License (PPL) and Multi Pilot License (MPL) courses. This order not only demonstrates Aeros’s confidence in Tecnam’s product but also highlights the company’s commitment to providing top-tier training solutions.
Smart Aviation Expands Its Fleet
Poland-based Smart Aviation also strengthened its partnership with Tecnam by adding five additional Tecnam P2008JC aircraft to its training fleet. Mateusz Dzialynski, CEO and Head of Training at Smart Aviation, emphasized the growing need for well-trained pilots in today’s competitive aviation market. “The demand for pilots continues to grow, and it is our responsibility to provide well-trained professionals who meet the highest standards,” Dzialynski said. These new aircraft, expected to be delivered in 2025, will complement the existing fleet, which already includes various Tecnam models such as the P-Mentor. Smart Aviation has enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with Tecnam since 2013, and this new order reinforces their mutual commitment to high-quality flight training.
CAFA Orders to Boost Training Capacity
Cyprus Airways Flying Academy (CAFA), based at Larnaka International Airport (LCA), further expanded its fleet by ordering two Tecnam P2008JC single-engine aircraft. Christos Limnatitis, Accountable Manager at CAFA, highlighted that Tecnam’s aircraft are “state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly, and align with our commitment to innovation in flight training.” With this order, CAFA aims to standardize its fleet and significantly increase its training capacity, further positioning the academy as a leading institution in the region.
