Texel Air launches New Zealand operations

Bahrain-based ACMI and charter cargo airline Texel Air has launched operations in New Zealand.

The airline announced on LinkedIn that it has established Texel Air NZ, “a brand-new cargo airline operating B737-800 aircraft between Australia and New Zealand, providing ACMI and Charter services to its clients utilizing a world-class fleet of newly converted aircraft”.

Texel Air NZ’s LinkedIn page confirms it is headquartered in Auckland. There is little other information available currently, as the New Zealand airline’s new website is currently under construction, according to the LinkedIn page.

In August last year, Texel Air said it had received a B737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) from owner Chisholm Enterprises for operation in the DHL network.

The delivery brought Texel Air’s growing B737-80oBCF fleet to five.

In addition to the B737-800BCF aircraft, the airline’s fleet includes the B737-300F and the B737-700 FlexCombi.

In November last year, Texel Air and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) signed an MoU to form a strategic alliance to develop Middle East and international aviation opportunities.

The MoU details an agreement to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle to secure financing for Texel’s fleet and facilities expansion in Bahrain, with special provision to grow the Texel brand and AOCs into other identified areas of interest.

Established in 2013 by Chisholm Enterprises, Texel Air is an ACMI/charter cargo airline and aircraft maintenance repair organisation (MRO).
