Textron Aviation Delivers First Citation Ascend Business Jet
Textron Aviation has delivered the first Citation Ascend to a retail customer, marking a key milestone in the evolution of its long-running midsize jet family. The handover took place on December 30, just under two months after the aircraft received type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. The aircraft’s registration and operator have not been disclosed.
The Citation Ascend is the latest and most advanced variant of the Citation 560XL platform, a lineage that has proven to be one of the most successful midsize business jet programs in aviation history. Since entering service in 2000, the 560XL family has recorded more than 1,000 deliveries worldwide, spanning the Citation Excel, Citation XLS, Citation XLS+, and Citation XLS Gen2 models.
Designed as a step forward in capability and passenger comfort, the Citation Ascend builds on the strengths of its predecessors while incorporating new technologies aimed at improving efficiency, range, and operating economics. Textron Aviation positions the Ascend as a next-generation solution for operators seeking a balance between performance and cost-effectiveness in the midsize segment.
