The Best Airline & Airport On-Time Performance: Europe
Europe saw a 14% decline in the number of flights cancelled this month, with just 6,983 cancelled in March compared to 8,186 in February. Austrian Airlines (OS) retained its dominance in the region with an impressive OTP of 90.37%, albeit a 2.59% decrease compared to last month.
Vienna International Airport (VIE), the main hub for Austrian Airlines, concluded the month with an OTP of 85.17%, a decrease of 4-points compared to February’s OTP of 89.39%.
LOT Polish Airlines (LO) took the second-place spot with an OTP of 89.15%, a near 3-point increase over February’s performance.
Aegean Airlines (A3) followed in third place with an OTP of 88.42%, a slight decrease over last month’s OTP (89.67%).
Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH), a hub for Aegean concluded the month with an OTP of 85.46%, a nearly 3-point decrease compared to last month’s OTP of 88.12%.
An astounding 13-point increase in this month’s OTP score propelled Norwegian Air Shuttle (DY) to fourth place with an OTP of 88.34% compared to last month’s 74.72%.
Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL), the main hub for Norwegian Air Shuttle, demonstrated a solid OTP of 85.85%, a 7-point increase over February’s OTP of 78.74%.
SunExpress (XQ), a new name in the Europe top ranking, secured the fifth spot with an OTP of 87.90%, a near 4-point increase compared to February.
Antalya Airport (AYT), the base for SunExpress achieved an OTP of 86.88%, a near 4-point improvement compared to February OTP of 83.35%.
