Norwegian Cruise Line has debuted the entertainment and onboard experiences available for its latest ship, the Norwegian Prima, which will offer several new industry firsts and provide ample entertainment for every kind of cruise guest.

The first Prima Class ship of the cruise line’s fleet is set to debut in the summer of 2022 in Europe. It made record-breaking sales when it was announced back in May.

The Prima Theater will showcase a new musical, “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” showcasing her origin story as a disco queen and featuring several of her greatest hits. Guests can also enjoy “Light Balance Universe,” featuring Light Balance, a dance crew that won “America’s Got Talent.”

The theater itself is a multi-purpose venue: it will transform into a high-energy nightclub afterhours, complete with special effects, a moving LED screen and large dance floor.

The Norwegian Prima is also the first cruise ship to host game show experiences, called “LIVE on NCL” gameshows. Featuring games like “Supermarket Sweep,” guests visiting the Prima Theater and Nightclub will be able to take part in their very own game show experiences and even compete for prizes.

The ship also offers several fun options for adrenaline junkies: the Prince Speedway is the largest and first-ever three-level racetrack on a cruise ship, featuring a more than quarter-mile track with 14 turns.

The Prima will also offer The Drop, the world’s first freefall dry slide that plunges 10 stories down, while The Galaxy Pavilion features two escape rooms, four new immersive simulator experiences and golfing simulators.

The ship will become the only NCL ship sailing out of Galveston, Texas for the 2023-2024 winter season. It will offer 7-day voyages to the Western Caribbean, including stops to Cozumel, Harvest Caye, Roatan Island and more.

“We’re not just elevating the guest experience, we’re giving it an adrenaline rush and multisensory overload,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “When we launched Norwegian Prima, we aimed at going beyond expectations, providing our guests with more wide-open spaces, elevated service, thoughtful design and a variety of unforgettable experiences, and this latest unveiling of our entertainment and onboard activities lineup is going to have the wow-factor they’ve yearned for in a much-anticipated cruise vacation.”
