Navigating busy airports can be a stressful experience, but finding a relaxing spot in a well-appointed lounge can make all the difference. With summer 2024 upon us, several airlines, credit cards, and lounge programs are unveiling new and upgraded lounges that promise to enhance your preflight experience. Here’s a look at the best new airport lounges you can look forward to.

New Additions to Priority Pass Network

Priority Pass remains the leading independent airport lounge program worldwide, offering access to over 1,500 lounges across 145 countries. This summer, the network has expanded to include 11 new lounges in the United States. Among these, 10 are Escape Lounges and a newly added Club at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Escape Lounges: Known for their stylish and comfortable environments, Escape Lounges have been integrated into Priority Pass’s network. Previously accessible only to select premium cardholders, these lounges are now available to those with Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, and the Platinum Card from American Express. New locations include:

  • Bradley International Airport (BDL)
  • John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
  • Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
  • Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport (GSP)
  • Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
  • Oakland International Airport (OAK)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) – Terminal 3
  • Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD)
  • Sacramento International Airport (SMF) – Terminal A and Terminal B

However, some Escape Lounges, such as those in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) and Palm Beach (PBI), remain outside the Priority Pass network but are still accessible to select cardholders.

The Club at SFO: Opening on June 26, 2024, The Club SFO in Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is an exciting new addition. Spanning 12,000 square feet, the lounge features a woodsy entry inspired by Northern California’s redwood forests, a cozy cocktail bar, an open dining area, and a microclimate fireplace. The renovated terminal now allows access across all terminals, offering a seamless experience for travelers.

New Airline Branded Lounges

Several airlines have also introduced new lounges to enhance traveler comfort:

Air France: On June 21, 2024, Air France unveiled its latest lounge at Los Angeles (LAX) Airport. This 11,500-square-foot space includes a Clarins spa offering complimentary facials and a large dining area serving French cuisine and champagne.

Delta Air Lines: The Delta One Lounge at New York JFK, opened on June 27, 2024, is the largest of its kind, spanning 39,707 square feet. Features include a full-service restaurant, beverage-cart service, a bakery, a wellness area, and a retractable-roof terrace. Additional Delta One Lounges are planned for Boston (BOS) and LAX in 2024, with Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) set for 2025.

American Airlines: American Airlines is set to open new Flagship Lounge and Admirals Club locations in Philadelphia (PHL) in 2025, featuring modern aesthetics and enhanced food and beverage offerings.

Credit Card–Branded Lounges

Credit card companies are also expanding their lounge offerings:

Capital One: Capital One will open two new Capital One Landings at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in late 2024. Another Capital One Lounge is set for New York JFK Terminal 4. These lounges will be accessible to Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card holders.

Chase: Following its successful LaGuardia Lounge launch, Chase will introduce new lounges in San Diego (SAN) and Phoenix (PHX) later in 2024, with additional locations planned for Las Vegas (LAS) and Philadelphia (PHL) in 2025. Priority Pass members with Chase Sapphire Reserve will have unrestricted access.

American Express: Centurion Lounges by American Express continue to set the standard for luxury. New locations include Washington, D.C. (DCA) by late July 2024, Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) in 2025, and Newark (EWR) in 2026. These lounges are accessible to holders of The Platinum Card from American Express and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card.

Whether you’re a frequent flyer or just looking to enhance your airport experience, these new lounges offer an array of amenities to make your travel smoother and more enjoyable.
