From Canada to Central and South America, there are a lot of new and unique hotels and resorts preparing for their first-ever openings in 2023. As one year closes and the other begins, let’s take a peek at some of the new hotels and resorts we’re most excited about! The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie
A paradise befitting its name, The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie will open in the fall of 2023 and will be located in the development called The Palmeraie, in the Paradise Valley of Arizona. It will offer 215 rooms across its 20 acres, offering views of the Camelback Mountain as well as a spa and fitness center, seasonal restaurant concept, a citrus orchard, pool, 20,000 square-feet of indoor/outdoor event spaces and adjacent access to The Palmeraie Shops, all designed, of course, with The Ritz-Carlton’s luxury ethos in mind.
Falcon’s Resort by Meliá
While this new resort in the Dominican Republic opened its doors in December, it deserves a spot on this list nonetheless. Falcon’s Resort by Meliá is part of a new entertainment district comprising the resort, Katmandu Park Punta Cana and Falcon’s Central, a dining and entertainment area that is accessible by resort-goers. Falcon’s Resort features a brand-new resort concept, “resortainment,” and offers a family friendly design with an all-inclusive format.
The Longfellow Hotel
Nordic-inspired and named after the famed American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is The Longfellow Hotel, owned by family-owned and Maine-based Uncommon Hospitality. The hotel will open in the summer of 2023 and will feature a great location in Portland, Maine’s historic West End, featuring 44 rooms with king beds and four suites, Nordic wellness offerings in its Asteria spa and several dining options operated with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and management.
Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort & The West Beach Resort and Spa at Frenchman’s Reef
The first of two new openings heading to the popular Frenchman’s Reef area of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort is an Autograph Collection Hotel that will debut in the spring of 2023. With 94 guestrooms, the resort will boast a boutique feel and offer several dining concepts and access to the upcoming Westin Beach Resort and Spa at Frenchman’s Reef’s amenities.
The second, the Westin Beach Resort and Spa at Frenchman’s Reef, will debut in the first half of 2023 and will offer 392 rooms, including a selection of 28 suites, complete with the brand’s Heavenly Beds and other amenities. With five restaurants and lounges, pool deck, spa, fitness center, a private dock, private adventure beach and a whopping 60,000 square feet of outdoor event spaces and 25,000 square feet of indoor event spaces, the resort will be a definite crowd-pleaser for lovers of Frenchman’s Reef.
Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo
The Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo in the historic and UNESCO-designated Casco Viejo district in Panama City, Panama will open in January, 2023, ushering in a new era of luxury for the city in a historic building that was once the home of Club Union, an exclusive club welcoming greats such as Queen Elizabeth II, Helen Keller and Albert Einstein. The hotel will feature the best in Panamanian luxury, with 159 rooms and suites, five food and beverage offerings, a spa, fitness center and plenty of indoor and outdoor event spaces, perfect for weddings, retreats and more. It’ll also be a member of the ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty program.
Cayo Levantado Resort
Opening June 2023 on Isla Cayo Levantado in Samaná, Dominican Republic is an island resort experience unlike any other: Cayo Levantado Resort. The resort is part of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts and will feature a new concept for the brand: A Rhythm All Its Own, featuring local culture from the food and drinks to architecture and more; sustainability, utilizing renewable energy and implementing waste management strategies; and offering a well-rounded focus on wellness.
The all-inclusive offers four dining options and two speciality dining restaurants, two pools, two spas, including a jungle spa, fitness center, a beach club, a botanic garden and access to two beaches. All guests enjoy a private boat ride to and from Isla Cayo Levantado, five-star service and four wellness paths to choose from during their stay.
Tempo by Hilton Times Square
The new Tempo by Hilton Times Square will open later in 2023 and feature a great location at the new TSX Broadway tower. With 661 rooms, the new brand will offer lifestyle and wellness amenities like Wellness Rooms featuring Peloton bikes, the Get Ready Zone workspace and incredible access to one of the most desirable parts of New York City.
Motto by Hilton Times Square
Inspired by a blend of 1920’s New York City glamour with modern minimalist design, the new Motto by Hilton Times Square will open to travelers in early 2023 and offer 400 rooms with the brand’s signature ethos. The incredible location and hotel restaurant, which will feature locally sourced and seasonal produce, will be two of this hotel’s biggest draws.
Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville
Located just steps away from the desirable shopping and tourism district of Yorkville in Toronto is Canopy by Hilton’s Canadian debut: the Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville. This hotel features 184 rooms and a city-scape ethos, with a restaurant, indoor pool, EV charging stations, yoga and fitness rooms, a cafe and more. It’s expected to open in early 2023.
Hilton Santa Marta
Another new early 2023 opening is the Hilton Santa Marta in Santa Marta, Colombia. Featuring 261 rooms, a short walk to the beach and close proximity to the Tayrona National Park, as well as 16,000 square feet of event space, it’s a great choice for travelers looking to enjoy exploring a new destination along the warm Caribbean Sea.
Hilton Monterrey
Located within the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range just five minutes from Monterrey’s city center is the new Hilton Monterrey, opening in early 2023. With 225 rooms, a 6th floor pool and bar area, large event spaces and close proximity to the city’s world-class museums, architecture, shopping and nightlife.
Conrad Orlando
Opening in fall of 2023 is the new Conrad Orlando, with 433 rooms and suites, spa, water garden, 40,000 square feet of indoor event space, numerous dining offerings and incredibly close proximity to two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses, aquatic activities, a beach and, of course, Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. It’s expected to be a great luxury option for travelers heading to the area, for both adults and families alike.
Eastwind Oliverea Valley
Located in Lake Placid, New York is the new boutique hotel, Eastwind Oliverea Valley, a Scandinavian-style hotel offering thirty different free-standing cabins all designed with a modern twist. Amenities include a sauna, pool, complimentary bikes, yoga sessions, seasonal creative workshops and a restaurant. When it opens in January, it’ll be a great place for travelers to reconnect with nature in the scenic Catskills.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo del Sol
Opening during the latter half of 2023 is the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo del Sol. The 96-room resort offers residences for travelers wanting to live in paradise, while travelers and residents alike can enjoy the private beach club, kid’s club, spa and wellness facilities, as well as shopping and dining experiences, all designed around the Four Seasons’ luxury ethos.
Cascade Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Located within Kansas City, Missouri is the upcoming March debut, the Cascade Hotel, Kansas City, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. This modern build features 175 rooms and suites, including Marriott’s new Wellness Rooms that come with Peloton bikes, a 24-hour fitness center, cafe, rooftop bar and more. It’s also conveniently located near the Country Club Plaza shopping district.
Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences
Expected to open in May 2023, the very first Raffles property in America will be located in Boston. The Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences is a $400 million development project near Fenway Park and MGM Music Hall, offering the best of Raffles’ signature luxury with 147 rooms and 146 residences. Butler service, a two-story Sky Lobby, five food and beverage options, a spa, a pool, a garden terrace and plentiful event spaces make this a great option for luxury travelers.
The St. Regis Kanai Resort
Located within the resort-popular destination of Riviera Maya is a new February opening: the St. Regis Kanai Resort, part of a new luxury resort community near Playa del Carmen. The modern resort will offer 124 rooms, including 12 residences and 20 suites, five dining and drinking options, a sky bar, library, and spa and fitness center, all nestled within a lush green forest along the edge of the Caribbean Sea. For luxury travelers, the St. Regis Kanai Resort will be a must-visit new resort in the region, with a stunning circular design and St. Regis’s classic luxury ethos.
Margaritaville Beach Resort Belize
The Margaritaville Beach Resort Belize will open in early 2023 on Ambergris Caye, an island just a short boat ride away from the Belize mainland. With only 55 suites, the resort features a boutique hotel vibe with Margaritaville’s signature resort culture. Amenities on offer include a spa, a pier, fitness center, Margaritaville’s signature dining and drinking experiences and more. To help with sustainability, the resort will also reclaim all its water from the ocean and have a dedicated space for a community garden.
21c Museum Hotel St. Louis
Opening in June 2023 is the 21c Museum Hotel St. Louis in Missouri, built within the historic Renaissance Revival-style YMCA building that has 95 years of history in the city. The hotel boasts 175 rooms and suites and combines community-centered culture with art, with 13,000 square feet of exhibition space which will feature rotating exhibits, a large fitness and wellness center complete with a pool and spa treatment rooms, a coffee shop and a restaurant.
Trilogy Hotel Montgomery, Autograph Collection
A new Autograph Collection hotel will open in Montgomery, Alabama’s historic area in spring 2023: the Trilogy Hotel Montgomery. Built of several historic buildings, including the John H. Murphy house and two warehouses, the hotel will feature a rooftop bar, Starbucks cafe, a restaurant, fitness center, meeting rooms and several room and suite options, including accessible ones. The hotel is located near several of the city’s key attractions, like the capitol building, the Alley Entertainment District and more.
