In its study, GoBankingRates analyzed U.S. cities with populations of 10,000 or more where at least 25% of residents are aged 65 and older. Key factors included median household income, average home value, annual living costs, and the average Social Security benefits received in each location. The Villages emerged as the top choice, with a median income of $73,415, an average home price of $408,342, and an annual living cost of $48,808. Retirees here benefit from an average Social Security income of $30,704, making it an ideal spot for middle-class Americans.

Other top spots in the ranking include Green Valley, Arizona; Sun City West, Arizona; Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and Venice, Florida, each offering affordability and amenities well-suited for a comfortable retirement on a middle-class budget.
