Top Takeaways From Oceania Allura’s Luxury Debut at Sea

Oceania Cruises’ newest ship, Oceania Allura, is redefining luxury cruising. After sailing on its four-night shakedown cruise from Genoa to Trieste, it’s clear Allura—along with sister ship Vista—firmly positions Oceania in the luxury cruise segment.
The 1,200-guest, 68,000-ton ship offers “luxury with choice,” allowing guests to tailor their experience between all-inclusive amenities or more flexible options. Jason Montague, chief luxury officer for Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, noted the evolution from earlier repurposed ships to purpose-built luxury vessels like Allura.
Culinary excellence remains a cornerstone of the Oceania experience, with one chef for every eight guests and half the crew dedicated to cuisine. Highlights include The Grand Dining Room’s 270 new recipes, Jacques for French fine dining, Red Ginger’s new Nikkei-inspired dishes, and The Crêperie for waffles and sundaes. Aquamar Kitchen and Waves Grill’s evening pizzeria offer lighter fare, while Terrace Café delivers consistently high-quality meals.
Accommodations start at 290 square feet, with suites featuring spacious marble bathrooms, concierge access, and upgraded amenities. Top-tier options like the 2,400-square-foot Owner’s Suites include oceanview soaking tubs and expansive verandas. Solo travelers will appreciate dedicated Concierge Level Solo cabins.
Public spaces like The Grand Lounge, Martini’s, and Founders Bar elevate the onboard experience with creative cocktails and elegant atmospheres. Enrichment offerings include cooking classes in the Culinary Center, digital media workshops at Lync Digital Center, and art instruction through the Artist in Residence program.
In 2027, Oceania will debut Oceania Sonata, followed by Oceania Arietta in 2029, continuing the brand’s luxury growth trajectory.
