Trans Air Congo adds first B737-500
Trans Air Congo – TAC (Q8, Pointe Noire) has taken delivery of its first B737-500 in the form of TN-AKH (msn 24898), Skyliner Aviation has reported. The 29.2-year-old ex-YanAir (YE, Kyiv Igor Sikorsky) narrowbody was ferried from Kyiv Boryspil via Khartoum to Brazzaville over the course of August 19-20, 2020. The aircraft was never actively operated by YanAir and had been out of regular operations since September 2017, when it was retired by Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil). Besides the newly delivered B737-500, Trans Air Congo also operates one B737-200(C) and four B737-300s, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. Until the end of March 2020, the airline also wet-leased a single B737-400 from YanAir. Trans Air Congo has not filed any B737-500 schedules as yet.
