TravelPerk Rebrands as Perk to Simplify Work Through AI

Corporate travel management platform TravelPerk has rebranded as Perk, reflecting its broader mission to streamline business operations and eliminate “shadow work” — the non-core tasks employees handle outside their primary roles.
Perk aims to unify travel and spend management within one intelligent, AI-driven platform. The company defines shadow work as the invisible tasks that consume valuable employee time, such as booking travel, filing expenses, coding invoices, and managing approvals.
According to research conducted by Forrester Consulting and commissioned by Perk, such administrative burdens cost global businesses an estimated $1.7 billion annually. The study, which surveyed more than 700 decision-makers and 8,000 employees across 20 industries in six major economies, revealed that a 1,000-person company can lose around 7,000 hours each week to shadow work.
“More than a decade ago, we started by removing friction from business travel,” said Avi Meir, Perk CEO and co-founder. “Today, we’re expanding that mission to make work simpler and give people their time back.”
To achieve this, Perk is expanding its AI-native spend management suite, including tools like Perk Pay, which provides physical corporate cards to help centralize expense tracking and control.
As part of its rebrand, the company is also accelerating its global expansion, establishing dual headquarters in London and Boston. Recent milestones include the acquisitions of Swiss expense tech firm Yokoy and U.S.-based AmTrav, alongside securing $200 million in Series E financing to fuel growth.
