Tribe makes history with Las Vegas resort licensing

California-based San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has become the first Native American tribe to own and operate a casino resort in Las Vegas. The Nevada Gaming Commission last week unanimously voted to grant a license to the buyer of the off-Strip Palms property, which was owned by Red Rock Resorts, for $650 million.
