Trouble grows for Brooklyn’s contested Tillary Hotel

The owner of Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Tillary Hotel, which is under bankruptcy protection and operating as a homeless shelter, is fighting to keep one of its lenders from joining a bankruptcy sale scheduled for August. Isaac Hager’s Cornell Realty contends that Ohana Real Estate acted improperly in using debt as an ownership ploy for the property, for which bidding is to start at $94 million.
