TrueNoord leases two new ATR42-600s to Silver Airways
TrueNoord, the specialist regional aircraft lessor, has delivered two new ATR42-600s to existing lessee Silver Airways.
The aircraft join the ATR72-600 delivered to Silver in May 2021, increasing TrueNoord’s portfolio with the American passenger and cargo regional carrier to three aircraft.
Garry Topp, TrueNoord Sales Director and Head of Americas, said: “It is very encouraging to be involved in the recovery of the US market and supporting Silver Airways’ ATR fleet expansion plans with two new deliveries. The placement of these aircraft increases TrueNoord’s North American footprint and we look forward to further developing our activity in the region this year. This also marks the first ATR42-600s in the TrueNoord fleet and we are enthusiastic about acquiring more of these modern, fuel-efficient regional aircraft in the future.”
Delivered to Silver Airways on a long-term operating lease, these aircraft will be operated across Silver’s passenger network: the south-eastern USA, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Steve Rossum, CEO of Silver Airways, said: “We are delighted to receive these new ATR42-600s on lease from TrueNoord. We have developed an excellent relationship with the TrueNoord team and appreciate their support as Silver expands its safe, reliable and customer-friendly service to meet growing passenger demand as the US market continues to recover strongly.”
Topp added: “The ATR is the perfect aircraft to enable efficient and reliable connectivity between vital short-haul routes, boosting domestic networks in this part of the US. Silver Airways delivers an exceptional service to its customers, showcasing the role and economic value contemporary turboprops can provide in the US. We are proud to be part of Silver Airways’ continued growth.”
