TSA Agent Accused of Assaulting 79-Year-Old JetBlue Passenger

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent in Florida has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 79-year-old JetBlue passenger at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Janiyah Wilson-Robinson, 21, of Margate, was charged with aggravated battery after police say she forcefully pushed an elderly woman traveling from Palm Beach Gardens. According to the report, Wilson-Robinson placed her hands on the woman and pushed her with enough force to cause her to stumble and hit her head, resulting in minor bruises.
The incident occurred during routine screening procedures. Emergency medical responders treated the woman at the scene and provided an ice pack, though she declined hospital care.
Wilson-Robinson was taken into custody and spent the night at the North Broward Bureau detention facility. She was later released on a $1,000 bond.
In response to the incident, the TSA confirmed Wilson-Robinson has been placed on administrative leave. “TSA holds its employees to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity,” a spokesperson said. “We do not tolerate behavior that violates these standards or the public’s trust.”
The agency also stated it is cooperating fully with law enforcement during the ongoing investigation.
The alleged assault has raised concerns about passenger safety and employee conduct at airport security checkpoints. No further details about what led to the confrontation have been released.
The TSA and Broward County law enforcement have not yet disclosed whether surveillance footage or witness accounts will be part of the final report. The investigation remains active.
