Turkish Airlines Secures Leases for 20 Narrowbodies and 1 Widebody in Expansion Move
Turkish Airlines (TK), based at Istanbul Airport, has finalized lease agreements for a substantial fleet expansion, signing contracts with leading lessors CDB Aviation, Jackson Square Aviation, and DAE Capital. The deal encompasses twenty narrowbody and one widebody aircraft, set to be delivered by the first quarter of 2026.
According to the airline’s announcement, CDB Aviation will supply six narrowbody aircraft, scheduled for delivery between the first quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. Jackson Square Aviation will contribute four narrowbodies, expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2025, while DAE Capital will provide ten narrowbodies, slated for delivery between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. All narrowbody aircraft will be leased for a duration of 12 years.
In addition to the narrowbody additions, Turkish Airlines has secured a single widebody aircraft from CDB Aviation, set to be delivered in the second quarter of 2024 and leased for six years.
While Turkish Airlines has not disclosed the specific aircraft types in this recent leasing deal, the move is part of the airline’s ongoing expansion strategy. The carrier is actively working to enhance its fleet amid plans to place a significant order for up to 600 narrow- and widebody aircraft, a decision that is still pending. In the interim, Turkish Airlines is strategically signing incremental contracts with lessors to support its growth ambitions.
As the aviation industry continues its recovery, Turkish Airlines’ expansion efforts position the airline for increased operational capacity and enhanced service offerings. Stay tuned for further developments as Turkish Airlines continues to shape its future fleet composition.
