t’way Air to Launch Seoul–Vancouver Flights in July 2025

South Korea’s t’way Air will launch direct flights between Seoul Incheon and Vancouver International Airport on July 12, 2025, marking its first route to North America. The airline will operate four weekly roundtrip flights using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, becoming the only low-cost carrier connecting South Korea and Canada.
The Seoul–Vancouver route is currently served daily by Air Canada and Korean Air, both using Boeing 787s. t’way’s entry will add 2,776 seats weekly and 41,640 seats over the initial filing period, offering more capacity and lower-fare options on the transpacific corridor.
While t’way has partnered with Korean Air to expand its European network—benefiting from shared aircraft, crews, and support services to meet European Commission merger conditions—the new Vancouver flights are being launched as an independent commercial initiative.
t’way Air, originally a domestic carrier based in Daegu, has grown rapidly in recent years. According to ch-aviation data, it now operates flights to 42 airports in 21 countries, including five European destinations.
The airline’s decision to enter the Canadian market reflects its broader international ambitions and aligns with increasing demand for travel between South Korea and North America. With competitive pricing and expanding long-haul capabilities, t’way aims to attract both leisure and value-conscious travelers on this high-traffic route.
The Vancouver launch is a key milestone in t’way’s strategy to establish itself as a significant player in the long-haul low-cost market, challenging legacy carriers on transpacific routes.
