Two Hotel Vets Join Mint House Exec Team
Shortly after Jim Mrha joined Mint House as CFO, the apartment-style accommodation provider has announced two more appointments to its senior leadership team. Veteran hospitality executives Jess Berkin and Paul Sacco are Mint House’s new head of brand and chief development officer, respectively. The appointments are effective immediately.
Berkin most recently was chief marketing officer for travel startup Porter & Sail. She also has held global marketing and public relations roles for several hospitality brands and agencies, including Marriott International, where she headed global communications and experiential marketing for the company’s luxury brand portfolio.
Prior to joining Mint House, Sacco served as chief investment officer for Driftwood Capital. He also previously held leadership roles at RLH Corp., TPG Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, where he helped expand the company to more than 1,000 hotels globally and spearheaded the launch of Aloft Hotels and Element Hotels.
Mint House currently operates more than 500 units in 21 properties across 12 cities in the United States. Its newest locations are Columbus, Ohio, and Austin, Texas, according to a company spokesperson. The company expects to operate more than 3,000 units in 30 markets within the next 12 months, including new markets not yet announced.
