The U.S. Virgin Islands has concluded 2023 on a high note, showcasing significant accomplishments under the leadership of Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, Department of Tourism. With an eye towards an even more prosperous 2024, the territory is gearing up to further enhance its tourism sector.

Key Achievements in 2023

  • The shared economy industry in the U.S. Virgin Islands generated a robust revenue of $343.4 million in 2023, slightly lower than the $360.53 million record in 2022.
  • The hotel occupancy rate stood at 61.8 percent, surpassing the regional average daily rate (ADR).
  • The territory’s Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) continued to outperform regional standards.
  • A significant role in the Caribbean’s double-digit tourism growth was evident, with international arrivals expected to increase by 39 percent above 2019 levels in Q4 of 2023. Extended stay visits saw a 25 percent rise.

Strategic Marketing and Partnerships
