Uganda Airlines is set to enhance its African network with the addition of three new destinations starting in September, paving the way for its expansion into Europe later this year.

On September 12, the airline will commence twice-weekly flights from Entebbe International Airport (EBB) to Abuja, Nigeria, using Airbus A330-800 aircraft. Following this, from September 25, Uganda Airlines will introduce four weekly flights to Lusaka, Zambia, and Harare, Zimbabwe, utilizing Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft.

These new routes will expand the airline’s network to 16 airports, primarily within Africa, and include current international flights to Dubai and Mumbai. CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki highlighted that these additions are strategic steps towards establishing connections in Europe and Asia. Uganda Airlines has already secured approval to operate flights to London Gatwick Airport, with plans to introduce this route later in the year.

Since resuming commercial operations in August 2019, Uganda Airlines has focused on strengthening its African network before branching out to broader international destinations.
