Uganda Airlines Launches Tender and Eyes A320 Leases

Uganda Airlines has opened an international tender for consultancy services to guide its next phase of fleet expansion. The national carrier is seeking integrated technical, legal, and financial advisers to support upcoming aircraft acquisitions, according to a public notice.
Bidding documents are available at the airline’s procurement office in Entebbe for a non-refundable fee of USD30, with proposals due by October 2, 2025. The process will follow Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, and electronic submissions will be accepted.
At the same time, Uganda Airlines is in advanced talks with lessors for the dry-lease of two Airbus A320 family aircraft. Internal documents cited by African aviation media indicate the airline is looking for A320ceo jets under 15 years old or A320neo jets under nine years old, with delivery targeted for February 2026. Preference will be given to sourcing both aircraft from the same lessor.
The airline is seeking cabins configured for either 153 economy and 12 business class seats on the A320 or 190 economy and 16 business class seats on the A321. Lease terms are expected to range from two to eight years depending on the aircraft’s age.
Uganda Airlines’ current fleet comprises two A330-800Ns and four CRJ900LRs. It has extended an ACMI deal with Danish Air Transport for one A320-200 and secured government approval to wet-lease a Boeing 737-800 freighter. The carrier is also finalising a narrowbody order with Airbus for two A320neo and two A321neo jets, though deliveries are not expected before 2031.
