One Air, the UK-based cargo airline, has successfully operated its first revenue service between the United Kingdom and the United States. The airline’s Boeing 747-400(BDSF), G-ONEE (msn 24998), flew from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to New York JFK on January 18, returning the same day.
In a LinkedIn post, One Air described the operation as “smooth and successful,” highlighting that it took just 24 hours from booking to cargo delivery in New York.
One Air, closely linked to cargo broker AirOne Aviation Limited, received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in 2023 and launched with a single B747-400(BDSF), G-UNET (msn 25075). The airline applied for a U.S. Foreign Air Carrier Permit shortly after securing its AOC, but it took 20 months before its first U.S.-bound flight.
The airline recently expanded its fleet with a third freighter, B747-400ERF G-ONEF (msn 32870), which was ferried to Victorville in early January.
According to ADS-B flight tracking data, One Air’s BDSF freighters operate regular flights from Nottingham East Midlands, Muscat, and Budapest to Hong Kong International, along with occasional services from Nottingham to Hangzhou. In 2023, the airline secured approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to operate cargo flights to designated Chinese airports.
With this landmark U.S. operation, One Air strengthens its global cargo network, reinforcing its role in the transatlantic freight market.
