UK’s Oryx Jet ends B737-300 operations

Oryx Jet (London Luton), a British virtual passenger charter specialist, has retired its only B737-300, Skyliner Aviation has reported.

9H-ZAK (msn 24678), which was operated on behalf of Oryx Jet by its commercial partner Maleth-Aero (AL, Malta Int’l), was withdrawn from commercial operations in May 2020, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It was ferried for maintenance to Rzeszow on June 18, 2020, where it remained through July 5, 2021. Subsequently, it was ferried via Almaty to Changchun. The 31.2-year-old aircraft was originally delivered to Philippine Airlines in 1990.

Maleth-Aero continues to operate two B737-500s on behalf of Oryx Jet, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. The Maltese ACMI/charter specialist operates another B737-300, although it has been stored since March 2020. The airline’s fleet also comprises four A330-200s, four A340-600s, one B737-300(F), and one E145.
