UNI Air orders 19 ATR 72-600s, biggest ATR deal since 2017

Just ahead of the Paris Air Show 2025, ATR has secured its largest single aircraft order since 2017. Taiwan-based UNI Air, the regional subsidiary of EVA Air, signed a firm order on June 10, 2025, for 19 ATR 72-600 turboprops, with options for an additional three aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2032.
The new order supports UNI Air’s fleet renewal and growth strategy. The airline currently operates 14 ATR 72-600s and will gradually replace and expand its fleet with the latest models. The updated aircraft will feature new-generation PW127XT engines, redesigned cabin layouts, and advanced Air Management Systems to enhance fuel efficiency, lower maintenance costs, and improve passenger comfort.
“This major investment strengthens our commitment to providing efficient and reliable domestic air service in Taiwan,” said Solomon Lin, Chairman of UNI Air. “With a modernized fleet, we aim to deliver the highest levels of comfort and operational performance to our passengers.”
Operating primarily from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), UNI Air serves 11 domestic destinations, including Taiwan’s outlying islands such as Kinmen, Penghu, and Matsu. These routes are critical for maintaining year-round access to remote communities with limited transportation alternatives.
“UNI Air plays a vital role in Taiwan’s domestic air network,” said ATR CEO Nathalie Tarnaud-Laude. “This order reflects our shared mission to connect communities and support regional mobility.”
The fleet expansion will further enhance Taiwan’s domestic connectivity and strengthen UNI Air’s position within the EVA Air Group.
