United Airlines has recently launched a groundbreaking non-stop service, connecting Brisbane, Australia, with Los Angeles, USA. This new route, marked by the inaugural flight of UA284, operates three times a week using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This development significantly boosts the capacity for travel between Queensland’s capital and the United States.

United Airlines now boasts the most extensive network of flights between the US and both Australia and New Zealand, surpassing all other carriers in the region. As of now, United Airlines operates an impressive 66 flights per week between the US and the South Pacific, a near 50% growth over the past year, making it the largest expansion to the region in US aviation history.

The airline’s network includes non-stop services from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to both Los Angeles and San Francisco, providing travelers with connections to over 270 destinations across the Americas. This expansion enhances the travel choices for passengers and trade partners, underlining United’s commitment to connecting these regions more closely.

Tim Wallis, United’s Regional Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Tahiti, expressed pride in this expansion. The strong partnership with Virgin Australia has been instrumental in establishing United as the preferred choice for travelers between these regions. Significant infrastructure improvements at LAX Airport have also improved the transit experience for passengers with connections in the US or Latin America.

The start of this service coincides with the summer holidays, making iconic destinations like Disneyland more accessible to families. It’s also a boon for Queensland exporters, boosting the flow of American visitors to the state. The arrival of two Dreamliners at Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal marks a historic moment for the airport.

The expansion in the South Pacific region has seen United Airlines adding more services throughout Australia, including daily flights to Los Angeles and twice-daily flights to San Francisco from Sydney, daily flights to both San Francisco and Los Angeles from Melbourne, and increased passenger capacity on the San Francisco to Melbourne route.

United Airlines’ new non-stop service between Brisbane and Los Angeles heralds a new era of connectivity and travel opportunities, reinforcing the airline’s position as a leading carrier in the US-Australia travel market.
