In a recent incident, a United Airlines Boeing 767 faced substantial fuselage damage following a challenging landing in Houston, Texas, USA.

The aircraft, identified as the Boeing 767-300ER with the registration N641UA, was in operation as flight UA702, traveling from New York Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on July 29, 2023, when the event unfolded during the landing phase.

Visual evidence shared on the popular social media platform Reddit displayed a noticeable deformation in the forward fuselage of the Boeing 767.

Remarkably, none of the 193 passengers or the 11 crew members aboard the flight sustained any injuries, as indicated by data available through the ASIAS system.

The landing transpired at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 10:35 am local time (UTC +5). Weather conditions recorded at 10:53 am local time (UTC +5), according to the Meteorological Aerodrome Report (METAR) from the airport, detailed wind originating from 150 degrees true, maintaining a velocity of 3 knots. Data sourced from flightradar24.com disclosed a visibility span of 10 statute miles, accompanied by clear skies without any precipitation.

Following the incident, the Boeing 767-300ER has remained stationed at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

In response to inquiries, a spokesperson from United Airlines conveyed, “United flight 702 successfully landed in Houston on Saturday, with all passengers disembarking without incident. We are in close collaboration with the NTSB and FAA while concurrently conducting our own comprehensive investigation to gain insight into the specifics surrounding this particular landing.” The spokesperson also added that the aircraft is presently void of any scheduled departures from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
