United Airlines has received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 out of the 40 ordered. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 registered as N27251 departed Seattle’s Boeing Field on Sunday, 27 June and landed at New York’s Newark Airport around 17:30 local time.

The aircraft based in Houston Intercontinental Airport will be flying to Newark and Las Vegas Airports. From 15 July, the carrier will swap a MAX 9 for a MAX 8 on the daily UA789 service between Houston and Las Vegas.

It is just over six months since the MAXs resumed flying amid some public hesitation. However, currently, the aircraft wins more and more trust. United is soon expected to confirm its further Boeing 737 MAX order formally – another 60 Boeing 737 MAX planes in addition to 40 that are on order now.
