United Airlines plans to fly to Athens in summer 2022
United Airlines returning to Athens for Summer 2022, offering daily services to both New York (EWR) and Washington
In Summer 2022, United Airlines reunites Athens to New York (EWR) and Washington DC, with daily services to each destination. Services to New York started on the 3rd of April, while Washington will return on the 7th of May.
To celebrate the return of United Airlines, on the 3rd of April, Athens International Airport organized an inauguration event, welcoming United Airlines first flight for the season to EWR.
Philos the Athenian, Athens International Airport mascot, welcomed passengers and crew at the gate area offering the traditional “New York/Big Apple” cookie, while all enjoyed getting photographed with the mascot.
With the return of services to New York and Washington, United customers, will benefit from direct connections to the US, as well as from an unrivalled route network from United’s hubs, offering convenient nonstop connections to over 95 destinations across the Americas.
Both flights will be operated with B787 Dreamliners, offering United customers the latest in comfort and service, featuring the all-aisle access United Polaris suite and the United Premium Plus cabin.
Even during the highly adverse two-year period of the pandemic, the US market demonstrated great resilience and always ranks among Athens/Greece most important and popular markets, with a large Greek-American community playing a key role on this.
