United CEO announces 99% of workforce is vaccinated

United Airlines says that 99% of its US-based employees have been vaccinated against COVID-19 ahead of the company’s Sept. 27 deadline, excluding approximately 2,000 workers who have requested religious or medical exemptions. “We’re focused on doing the right thing for United Airlines. It’s great to have the ability to just move forward now,” United CEO Scott Kirby said.
