United will buy eVTOL vehicles to advance sustainability

United Airlines plans to acquire up to 200 Archer Aviation electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles as part of the airline’s decarbonization strategy. The eVTOL aircraft, Maker, will be able to travel as far as 60 miles when fully charged, and as fast as 150 miles per hour. Deliveries are anticipated for 2024, with United serving as the launch customer.
