Uniworld Celebrates 50 Years With Epic River Journeys

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is set to mark a monumental milestone in 2026 as it celebrates 50 years of luxurious river travel with an exciting slate of new offerings. Commemorating five decades on the world’s waterways, the cruise line is rolling out an array of innovative itineraries designed to appeal to longtime fans and new explorers alike.
Next year, Uniworld will introduce its first new riverboat since 2021 – the S.S. Emilie. This elegant vessel, inspired by the visionary artist Gustav Klimt and his muse, Emilie Flöge, is poised to redefine river cruising on the Danube. With a capacity to host 154 guests, the S.S. Emilie will offer eight distinct itineraries that showcase the timeless charm and cultural heritage of Europe’s great river. Among its luxurious accommodations, travelers can opt for an exclusive two-bedroom suite, perfect for guests seeking a little extra comfort during their journey.
In addition to launching the S.S. Emilie, Uniworld is reintroducing its renowned Mystery Cruise series for 2026. This season will feature three brand-new hidden itineraries designed to surprise and delight seasoned cruisers. Two of these Mystery Cruises will set sail on April 26, 2026, while the third departs on May 3, 2026. These voyages promise an element of intrigue, with each journey offering unexpected stops and unique experiences that invite travelers to discover secret gems along the river routes.
The pinnacle of Uniworld’s anniversary celebrations is the grand 50-night “Rivers of the World” cruise. This once-in-a-lifetime expedition departs on April 16, 2026, and will traverse three continents, beginning in Brussels on the new S.S. Emilie. Guests embarking on this epic voyage will enjoy a diverse itinerary that includes a Mystery Cruise segment, followed by enchanting river journeys along the Seine and Nile. The adventure culminates with an immersive stay in Jordan, offering travelers a chance to explore ancient landscapes and modern marvels side by side.
For families looking to create unforgettable memories on the water, Uniworld is unveiling two family-centric sailings under its new Generations Collection. Departing on July 19 and July 26, these cruises will navigate the picturesque routes of Burgundy and Provence while focusing on family-friendly activities. With dedicated family hosts onboard, young travelers will enjoy specially curated dining experiences and interactive activities designed to engage and entertain, making these voyages perfect for multi-generational trips.
Uniworld is also expanding its itinerary portfolio throughout Europe. In a bid to offer more varied and combinable experiences, the cruise line is introducing three new Danube itineraries on the S.S. Emilie. One of the highlights is the 17-day “Danube Grandeur & Prague” trip, which artfully combines two popular itineraries focused on the region’s capitals. This innovative approach allows guests to experience the splendor of Europe’s cultural and historical landmarks while enjoying the intimacy and luxury that Uniworld is known for.
Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld, reflects on the company’s rich legacy: “As we look to celebrate our 50th anniversary next year, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished. Our commitment to innovation and delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences remains at the heart of who we are, and we’re excited to celebrate our history, our future, and our treasured guests.”
