Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has unveiled the first images of its newest river ship, the S.S. Sphinx, the cruise line’s Egyptian river cruise ship.

The ship features 42 suites featuring French balconies, a swimming pool, two gourmet dining venues and more. Featuring Egyptian cuisine, locally produced wines and Egyptian-crafted artwork, fabrics and furnishings further immerse guests in Egyptian culture in a responsible way.

The S.S. Sphinx first set sail on September 23, 2021. It will currently sail on eight cruises through the end of this year on the Splendors of Egypt & The Nile itinerary, a 12-day round-trip cruise from Cairo.

Guests can explore the region’s ancient wonders, including the temples of Karnak, Hathor and Horus, as well as the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Egyptian Museum and more. Rates begin at $4,799 per person. Offshore excursions, airport transfers, onboard gratuities and Wi-Fi are always included.

“As Egypt continues to be a top trending travel destination, we’re overjoyed to set sail along the famed Nile River and provide an unmatched look at the destination aboard our striking new Super Ship, the S.S. Sphinx. We’re excited for our guests to experience the ship as it fully embodies what they love most when sailing with us, exquisite design and experiences they won’t find anywhere else,” said Ellen Bettridge, CEO and President of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.

“Over the past few years, our team poured their heart into sourcing the design aspects, spending weeks at a time searching the souks and Bazaars to connect with local artisans and family-owned furniture businesses to collaborate and bring the true spirit of Egypt to life onboard. Everything from the artwork to the ceilings to the ship’s bow was thought out and sourced by the local community,” continued Bettridge.
