Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced a groundbreaking addition to its 2025 itinerary lineup: its first-ever women-only cruise, designed to offer an immersive travel experience through Southern France. Scheduled for an eight-day journey on August 25, 2025, the cruise promises an array of indulgent activities, including chocolate sampling, wine tasting, and truffle hunting, with fares starting at $4,999 per person.

This special themed cruise is targeted primarily at adults and older children, setting sail along the picturesque Rhône and Saône rivers through the renowned regions of Burgundy and Provence. Uniworld’s President and CEO, Ellen Bettridge, emphasized the growing demand for specialized and unique travel experiences as the inspiration behind the new offering. According to Bettridge, this initiative aims to cater to travelers’ desires for distinct and enriching cruise experiences.

The itinerary for this women-only voyage has been thoughtfully curated by a dedicated team of women, ensuring that each stop and activity enhances the cultural and culinary richness of the area. The cruise will embark from Arles and visit towns celebrated for their historical influence on artists like Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Gauguin. Along the route, guests will have opportunities to engage in local traditions such as lavender weaving and cycling through the scenic countryside, as well as unique experiences like burlesque workshops.

Uniworld encourages travelers to join this exclusive cruise with important women in their lives—mothers, sisters, adult daughters, or best friends—or to embark on a solo adventure likely to result in new friendships. The journey is designed not just as a vacation but as a week filled with exploration, connection, relaxation, and laughter, concluding in the vibrant city of Lyon.

In addition to this pioneering women-only cruise, Uniworld has introduced other themed cruises for 2025 that cater to various interests and communities. One highlight is the Music of the Danube voyage, featuring a yodeling workshop and a special tour in Salzburg themed around “The Sound of Music.” Golf enthusiasts can look forward to the new all-inclusive Premium Golf Package included in the Brilliant Bordeaux itinerary, offering rounds at prestigious courses like Cabot Bordeaux and St. Emilion, complete with caddy service and gourmet dining.

Uniworld continues to expand its portfolio with diverse offerings, including the returning Generations Collection aimed at families, Jewish Heritage Sailings, and the Out on the Rivers itinerary specifically designed for LGBTQ+ guests. With these tailored experiences, Uniworld remains committed to exceeding guests’ expectations and providing unforgettable travel experiences.
