Ural Airlines Plans to Retrieve Airbus A320 Stranded in Field After Emergency Landing

Ural Airlines is gearing up for an unusual operation—to recover an Airbus A320 aircraft that was left stranded in a field following a recent emergency landing.

We previously reported on this incident, which occurred on Tuesday, September 12th. Ural Airlines flight U6-1383 was en route from Sochi (URSS), Russia, to Omsk (UNOO) when it was supposed to touch down in Omsk.

Initially, it was believed that the flight had initiated a go-around during its final approach to Omsk due to a hydraulic issue. However, new information from the airline and Russian authorities reveals a different story. The crew reportedly aborted the landing due to adverse weather conditions in Omsk.

Subsequently, the situation took a dramatic turn as the aircraft’s green hydraulic system failed while the landing gear was being retracted, which happened after the go-around. However, this sequence of events still doesn’t fully explain why the Ural Airlines A320 found itself resting in a field. It appears that the landing gear failed to retract completely, and/or the gear doors remained open.
