Urbane Jets has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TAAL – Taneja Aerospace and Aviation, the owner and operator of Hosur aerodrome, to develop a state-of-the-art general aviation terminal at the privately owned airfield. The agreement, announced by CEO Abishek Kulkarni on social media, marks a significant step in expanding private aviation infrastructure near Bengaluru. Under the MoU, Urbane Jets will be responsible for overseeing slot and parking allocation for private jets and helicopters while managing, maintaining, and operating the terminal building. This development is set to improve the overall experience for private aviation clients and create additional revenue opportunities for both companies.

Hosur aerodrome is located approximately 40 kilometers from Bengaluru city center and currently does not host scheduled commercial flights. The site’s strategic location and flexible operating environment make it an ideal choice for the development of a dedicated general aviation terminal. With increasing demand for executive and private air travel in the region, the new terminal is expected to serve as a vital hub for charter operators and high-net-worth individuals seeking efficient and convenient access to private aviation services.

The signing of this MoU comes on the heels of another recent milestone for Urbane Jets. The company recently inducted its first executive jet, a Premier IA, which began charter operations on March 1, 2025. This addition has strengthened Urbane Jets’ Part 135-certified fleet and underscores its commitment to expanding its service offerings. In addition to the Premier IA, Urbane Jets also operates an AW109 helicopter and manages a heliport and an MRO hangar in Pune. The integration of these assets into its operations has allowed the company to build a diverse and reliable fleet that meets the needs of a wide range of customers.

TAAL, the partner in this venture, is well established in the aviation sector and plays a multifaceted role in the industry. In addition to owning and operating Hosur aerodrome, TAAL provides comprehensive aircraft maintenance services across four on-site MRO hangars. The company is also involved in aerospace manufacturing and offers military aviation services, including avionics retrofitting and modifications for both commercial and defense aircraft. This diverse portfolio of services positions TAAL as a key player in supporting the growth of private aviation infrastructure in the region.

The new general aviation terminal at Hosur is expected to streamline operations and offer enhanced amenities for private jet and helicopter users. By consolidating services at a dedicated facility, Urbane Jets and TAAL aim to deliver improved efficiency and customer satisfaction. The project reflects a broader industry trend where private aviation operators are investing in infrastructure and service quality to meet the evolving demands of a competitive market.

This strategic partnership between Urbane Jets and TAAL is poised to not only boost regional connectivity but also set a new benchmark for private aviation terminals in India. With plans to roll out additional services and enhance operational capabilities, both companies are well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for premium, hassle-free private air travel.
