US airlines invest in biometric technology
American Airlines is piloting biometric boarding technology at Dallas/Fort-Worth International Airport, which scans a traveler’s face at a kiosk to confirm identity instead of scanning a boarding pass. American plans to expand the touchless technology to domestic flights and through other points, such as baggage drop. Additionally, Delta Air Lines launched a touchless payment system for onboard purchases, while United fliers can virtually connect with an agent by scanning a QR code.
