US-Based Diamond Aviation Adds First Citation Mustang to Expanding Charter Fleet

Diamond Aviation, a San Diego-based private jet operator, has expanded its Part 135-certified fleet with the addition of its first Citation Mustang, according to ch-aviation research. The move enhances the company’s light jet offerings as demand for flexible and efficient private air travel continues to grow in the United States.
The newly added aircraft, registered as N74TM (msn 510-0384), is a 13.6-year-old Cessna Citation Mustang. The jet is configured to seat up to five passengers and is currently based at Las Vegas Henderson Executive Airport, a key hub for private and business aviation in the western U.S.
Previously operated by Silver Air, the Citation Mustang was the last aircraft of its type listed under Silver Air’s Part 135 certificate before transitioning to Diamond Aviation’s fleet. Its addition marks a significant milestone for Diamond Aviation, which continues to diversify its offerings with a mix of light and mid-size jets.
With the Mustang now in service, Diamond Aviation’s charter fleet includes a total of three Citation jets: a Citation Jet 2, a Citation Jet 3, and the newly acquired Citation Mustang. These aircraft are well-suited for short to mid-range flights, offering clients cost-effective solutions without compromising on comfort or performance.
In addition to its Citation lineup, Diamond Aviation also operates a growing number of other business aircraft, including a recently added Learjet 31A and a Learjet 60XR, known for their speed and range capabilities. The company also operates a King Air E90, a twin-turboprop aircraft known for its reliability and versatility, especially in shorter runways and regional destinations.
The inclusion of the Citation Mustang aligns with Diamond Aviation’s strategic goal to offer a comprehensive fleet that caters to a wide range of client needs—from quick regional hops to longer business trips. As the lightest jet in the Citation family, the Mustang is renowned for its efficiency, compact footprint, and ability to operate from smaller airports. These features make it ideal for high-frequency private flyers and corporate travelers looking for time-saving and cost-efficient travel options.
Diamond Aviation’s expansion reflects broader industry trends, with more operators investing in light and very light jets to meet increasing demand from both first-time private flyers and seasoned business travelers seeking more direct and personalized routes.
As a Part 135-certified operator, Diamond Aviation is authorized to conduct on-demand charter flights, and its growing fleet underscores its commitment to offering safe, high-quality, and convenient travel options across the western United States and beyond. The addition of the Citation Mustang not only strengthens the company’s position in the light jet segment but also reinforces its reputation as a rising player in the U.S. private aviation market.
With a balanced fleet and continued investment in aircraft and service quality, Diamond Aviation is well-positioned to capture a larger share of the charter market in 2025 and beyond.
