The U.S. State Department has approved more than $2.7 billion in foreign military sales to support aircraft sustainment programs with Poland and the United Kingdom. The approvals, announced by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, highlight Washington’s continued defense partnerships with key NATO allies.

Poland will receive a $1.85 billion package dedicated to logistics, sustainment, and program support for its growing fleet of F-35 fighter jets. The agreement includes work on engine component improvements from GE Aerospace, ensuring long-term readiness and performance of the fifth-generation aircraft. The deal strengthens Poland’s airpower as it modernizes its armed forces in response to regional security challenges.

In a separate approval, the United Kingdom secured an $861 million sustainment contract for its fleet of Boeing C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft. The program will cover maintenance, spare parts, and support services needed to ensure continued reliability of the strategic airlift fleet, which plays a vital role in NATO and humanitarian missions worldwide.

Both deals underscore the importance of sustainment programs in extending the life and effectiveness of advanced aircraft. They also reaffirm the U.S. commitment to supporting allies with not only new platforms but also the infrastructure and services necessary to maintain operational readiness.

As global security demands grow, sustainment agreements like these play a critical role in ensuring that NATO partners can operate advanced fleets effectively, strengthening collective defense capabilities while supporting the U.S. aerospace industry.
